Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 3, 2026 Last Updated: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Infinatec Solutions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the SmartWords mobile application (“SmartWords” or “the App”). By using SmartWords, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The Short Version
SmartWords is designed to respect your privacy. Here is the entire policy in plain language:
- We do not have a server. We do not collect, store, or have access to any data about you that could identify you.
- Your progress, collected words, and statistics sync through your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service. This data lives in your iCloud, not on our servers. We never see it.
- We use PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (e.g. which features are used, how often the App is launched). PostHog never receives your name, email, contacts, or any data that identifies you.
- We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking services.
- We do not require an account, email address, or any personal information.
- We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data, because we do not collect data that could identify you.
The rest of this document explains the above in more detail and describes what may change in future versions of the App.
What Data SmartWords Handles
Data You Create in the App
When you use SmartWords, the App creates data based on your activity, including:
- Your puzzle progress (which words you have learned, daily puzzle attempts, streaks)
- Your collected word cards
- Your token balance and profile level
- Your game statistics (best runs, completion rates, scores)
- Your in-app preferences (e.g. view modes, settings)
This data is stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service.
Apple iCloud and CloudKit
SmartWords uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync your data across your devices that are signed in to the same Apple ID. CloudKit is operated by Apple, not by us. Your data within CloudKit lives in your private iCloud database, which only you can access. We have no ability to read, modify, export, or delete data in your iCloud database.
For information about how Apple handles iCloud data, please see Apple’s Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
What We Do Not Collect
SmartWords does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information
- Your location
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, camera roll, microphone, or camera
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
- Your device identifier (IDFA) or advertising identifier
- Crash reports or diagnostic information sent to us (Apple may collect crash reports if you have opted in to share with developers via your device settings; those go to Apple, not directly to us)
- Browsing history or activity in other apps
We do not track you across apps or websites.
Third-Party Services
Analytics — PostHog
SmartWords uses PostHog (PostHog Inc., USA) to collect anonymous usage analytics that help us understand how the App is used and improve it. PostHog receives information about how the App is used — such as which features are accessed, how often the App is launched, and aggregate gameplay metrics — but never receives personally identifiable information (no email, no name, no contact information, no contents of your word collection beyond aggregated counts). PostHog assigns each App install a random identifier that we cannot link to your identity.
You can learn about PostHog’s privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.
SmartWords does not use any third-party services for advertising, cross-app tracking, or crash reporting.
Children’s Privacy
SmartWords is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, this is built into the App by design.
Your Rights and Choices
Because SmartWords does not collect or store data on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf.
You have full control over your SmartWords data:
- To view your data: Open SmartWords on any of your signed-in devices.
- To delete your data: Delete the SmartWords app from all of your devices, then remove SmartWords data from your iCloud by going to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → SmartWords → Delete Data on your iOS device.
- To stop syncing: Sign out of iCloud on your device, or disable iCloud for SmartWords in your iOS Settings.
If you have additional questions about your data rights under California law (including the California Consumer Privacy Act, “CCPA”), please contact us at the email address below. Because we do not maintain user data on our servers, most CCPA rights (such as the right to access, delete, or opt out of sale of personal information) are not applicable in the typical sense — there is nothing on our side to access, delete, or sell.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly if we add new features that handle data differently. When we do, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
- For material changes (such as adding a third-party service), update the policy before the change takes effect in the App
- Make the updated policy available at the same URL where you found this one
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
